Corridor Digital has turned its considerable skills to re-creating Grand Theft Auto in a short film that imagines what it would be like for the game’s absurdity to play out in the real world.
The result is a something halfway between Bugs Bunny and Venice Beach that feels like a Let’s Play video with the commentary on mute. Even more impressive is the Behind the Scenes video explaining how they pulled it off with a GoPro, a skateboard, a Gimbal stabilizer and the willingness to do illegal-looking things in public areas. Yeah, I thought it was filmed it with a drone, too.
