The Cyberman is one of my all time favorite science fiction villains. Matt Buckley captured the spirit of the fallen race in this sculpture that's now available directly from the BBC.
"Edge Sculpture is a contemporary range of pieces with the intent to be both striking and unique and raging with life. Up until now the fierceness of the carnivore, the silent power of the ape and the striking beauty of a goddess has provided the brief for this fine art fine series of work, but from late 2014 I was incredibly fortunate to gain the trust of the BBC and was given the permission to begin sculpting a Cyberman Bust.
The only caveat from the BBC was that the bust was one of the latest variants of the Cybermen as initially introduced in the episode 'A Nightmare in Silver', which made perfect sense because at this particular time they had already began the series 8 World Tour whilst I was building the armature and throwing on the clay."
