Short Film: Floating

"Floating" written and directed by Greg Jardin

Be warned, you may may want to watch this short film some place where you can be alone with a box of tissues, because it can be difficult to explain to co-workers why you're blubber about a film starring a bunch of balloons.

"Floating" is the story of a person made entirely out of balloons.  For him, the world is a dangerous place.  It's also lonely.  So he wanders the streets, trying to make connections with other people, but with each interaction, he faces the danger of popping.  It's a beautiful and absurdly apt metaphor for life as an introvert.

"Floating" was written by Greg Jardin and Matthew Beans and directed by Greg Jardin, who is best know for his high-concept stop-motion music videos, such as the famously labor-intensive jelly bean video for Kina Grannis' "In Your Arms," but here he shows off his skill with CG in what I believe must be an homage to the classic short "The Red Balloon"
